Organic WordPress Plugin

The Organic Wordpress plugin is used to integrate certain Organic Platform features with your website, including:

  • Automatically installing the Organic Code Snippet (JS SDK).
  • Enabling ads on your WordPress site (for Organic Ads customers).
  • Enabling affiliate features on your WordPress site (for Organic Affiliate customers).
  • Synchronizing WordPress content data with the Organic Platform for reporting purposes.

Installation​

There are threee ways to install the Organic WordPress plugin:

Install using Composer​

If your site is on Organic CMS, or if you otherwise manage your WordPress plugins using Composer, we have a detailed guide for you.

  1. Use the instructions found here to install the plugin. For the plugin name, use orgnc/wordpress-plugin. For the plugin version, use the latest version listed here.
  2. Ensure the plugin is activated.
  3. Configure the plugin using the instructions below.

The Organic WordPress plugin might appear in the “Must-Use Plugins” tab of the WordPress plugins screen, indicating that it's already activated.

Install through the WordPress UI​

  1. In your site's WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  2. Find the Organic WordPress plugin and install it.
  3. In your plugins list, find the "Organic" plugin and ensure it is activated.
  4. Configure the plugin using the instructions below.

Install manually via ZIP​

  1. Download the Organic WordPress plugin ZIP file from WordPress.org.
  2. Upload it to your site.
  3. In your plugins list, find the "Organic" plugin and ensure it is activated.
  4. Configure the plugin using the instructions below.

Configuration​

  1. In your site's WordPress dashboard, navigate to Settings > Organic Settings.
  2. Check the Organic Integration Enabled checkbox.
  3. Copy over the Organic API Key and Organic Site ID values from the Access Control Settings page in the Organic dashboard. If you have multiple sites, be sure to select the correct site from the dropdown menu. If you don’t have access to this page, ask your Organic site admin to grant it to you.
  4. Organic Affiliate customers: Check the Organic Affiliate Enabled checkbox.
  5. Organic Ads customers: Check the Prefill Containers Enabled checkbox.
  6. Click the Save settings button
